Building a feminist future across the uk

Who We Support Intersectional Uprising
One of the fastest growing UK feminism movements

Our vision

We want a future where there is equality & safety for all women and girls.

The potential of women to transform their lives is unlimited if they are given the right opportunities. This is what drives us forward and powers our passion for a more just and equal world. In every corner of the UK, committed women and allies are doing this work with Intersectional Uprising.

Standing shoulder to shoulder, we are engaged in the mighty process of change-making. Through fundraising, advocacy and convening and connecting, our community support each other on the journey towards a future where there is safety and equality for all women and girls.

*Over 90% of female homicide victims in the UK are killed by someone they know, usually by their partner.

Our story

Founded by Alix, Intersectional Uprising is a unique organisation which brings feminists together to fight for a fairer world for women and girls across the world. A space for creative ideas, connections, and the opportunity to make change. From small beginnings in 2024, we have grown into an independent movement of women and allies from all walks of life who are bonded by the desire to live in a world where women and girls have equal rights and equal opportunities.

We strive for a world which is free from oppression, discrimination and injustice for all women, a world where women feel safe in their own homes, where they have autonomy over their own bodies, and where they are not judged by patriarchal standards.
Today, many women are living in fear, poverty, or turmoil due to the patriarchal systems which oppress us. Women are facing misogyny from every angle, including in medicine, in workplaces, in society and in their homes. We are here to stand against this and work towards a fairer world for all women. We do this by working collaboratively with many women and organisations, by organising collective actions and by using our resources to continue our fight.

Our values

Collaborative partners

All those involved in Intersectional Uprising – project partners, ambassadors, members, allies, donors, are invited to be part of our community and make a difference. We are not just an organisation; our work involves creating spaces which foster collaboration and celebrate the collective power of women.

Partner with us

Courageous global feminists

As a growing community of feminists, we aim to be an evolving and inclusive movement, questioning and dismantling the structures that foster inequality for women and girls across the globe. Through our work, we aim to build connections and support those who identify as women and we welcome allyship from all feminists.

Walk with us

Showing up in solidarity

Much of our work involves showing up and asking how we can help. The issues of inequality and violence against women are complex. They are issues experienced by diverse communities and we work to acknowledge and champion lived experience. We are willing to recognise and interrogate our own privilege and evolve our thinking to ensure what we do is relevant and impactful as we work together for equality and justice.

Stand with us

Confident & ambitious

We are a small organisation supported by a network of extraordinary women and allies. We have seen time and again that the collective power of women is a force to be reckoned with. Our energy comes from bringing women together to create the conditions of change. The inequality we have experienced and witnessed has lit an enduring fire, fuelling our committed ambition for ongoing and long-lasting transformation.

Creative to the core

Creativity is a powerful vehicle for change-making and is key to how we work. Creativity drew our directors together and remains a central joyful thread running through everything that we do, from events to campaigns. Working from a place of creativity encourages us to question and evolve, and find new ways of making our means meaningful.

Made Friends For Life

"I joined Intersectional Uprising in early 2025, in my time volunteering I have been given so many amazing opportunities to achieve things I never dreamt possible before. I have had experiences which are awe inspiring, met incredible people and worked with some of the best people who I can now call my friends! The IU family is incredibly supportive, uplifting and amazing. As a group we are an incredible team but each individual is also fierce, passionate and talented! I have gained knowledge and experience in IT, Social media platforms, understanding organisational requirements, legislation needs for activism and gender-based discrimination, working on new software and technology, and so much more! I am incredibly thankful for all the life changing opportunities and experiences I have from joining this organisation and I have definitely made friends for life too!"
