About us
We stand in solidarity with women, globally
We are a nationwide feminist movement based in the UK, founded by Alix and other leading women, supporting women and girls confronting gender-based violence, sexual assault and abuse, and fighting for their justice.
Over 700,000 women are raped or sexually assaulted every year in England and Wales alone, and up to five in six victims do not report their experiences to the authorities. Together, we can help create a safer and fairer world for women and girls across the UK, and it starts with you.

Alix Valentine
Intersectional Uprising was born from a simple but powerful belief: when people come together to support, inspire and empower one another, they can become catalysts for lasting change. That belief remains at the heart of everything we do and continues to drive our vision of a world where all women and girls can thrive.
As a woman, a mother, an activist, and co-founder of IU, I see every day how much more remains to be done to achieve gender equality and end the violence experienced by so many women and girls. In an increasingly divided world, our vision of nationwide feminism offers hope; a chance to break down barriers and create a stronger, more united community.

Our feminist manifesto
We believe in a world where women feel safe to walk outside without the fear of a man attacking them. We fight for the rights to exist, for all women across the globe. We are passionate feminists with day jobs who collaborate with other organisations to fight the rigid patriarchal world that we currently all live in, and push for positive change and equality.
